Job summary
Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking an Industrial Engineer (or Principal Industrial Engineer) to join our team. You will analyze operations, build data-driven models, and align production planning with SAP/MRP systems, while supporting continuous improvement and shop-floor optimization.
The role requires collaboration across IT, analytics, and manufacturing, with on-site presence and occasional travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years industrial engineering or manufacturing experience; OR master’s degree with 0+ years experience.
- Experience with time studies and capacity modeling.
- Experience with shop floor controls (SOPs).
- Experience with Process control methods (SPC/control charts).
- Experience with Process Capability Analysis (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk).
- U.S. citizenship required.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes Data Analytics to analyze existing operational processes and develop metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance.
- Lead efforts as Digital Transformation Champion to align Sunnyvale's goals with sector and enterprise strategies.
- Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance.
- Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand.
