Job summary

United Parcel Service, Inc. offers an Engineering Development Program (EDP) designed to train highly qualified Industrial Engineers in a four-month, hands-on environment within UPS Operations. Participants receive classroom learning, self-paced computer-based training, and mentorship to build a professional network.

Upon completion, graduates may transition into an IE Supervisor role to lead teams, drive process improvements, and support operational excellence across UPS facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following preferred majors: Industrial Engineering; Process Engineering; Engineering & Technology Management; Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering; Automation Engineering; Supply Chain Management; Operations Management/Research; Logistics.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License by start date of employment.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm, idealism, creativity and dedication to getting results.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supports project and program management.
• Leads and supports process improvements.
• Performs work measurement using Master Standard Data (MSD).
• Conducts Operations Research.
• Participates in integrated business planning.
• Supports new technology integration and implementation.
• Administers training and development.
