Job summary

Plain Dealing Lumber is seeking an Industrial Electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems across sawmill and planer operations in Plain Dealing, LA. You will troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, and VM-based automation to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role requires 3+ years in industrial electrical work, knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E, and the ability to work on rotating shifts with overtime as needed. Hourly pay ranges from $32 to $42 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrician experience, preferably in sawmill or heavy manufacturing.
• High school diploma or equivalent; electrical apprenticeship or trade training preferred.
• Valid electrician certification or license per Louisiana regulations, or ability to obtain it.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, LOTO, and arc flash safety; experience with motor controls, VFDs, PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and automated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues on production equipment, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control circuits.
• Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals for installation and repair work.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safe production.
• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to minimize disruption.
