Job summary

Coushatta Forest Products is seeking several Electricians to join our team in Coushatta, Louisiana. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings, ensuring safe and efficient operation in a sawmill/manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of industrial experience, an electrician apprenticeship, and solid knowledge of NEC and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of industrial electrician experience, preferably in sawmill/manufacturing.
• Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Proven experience with electrical wiring, power distribution, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures per codes and safety standards.
• Diagnose and fix faults in PLCs, AC/DC drives, sensors, and MCCs under deadlines.
• Wire new sawmill machinery, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and lighting networks according to blueprints and codes.
• Follow LOTO, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations in heavy industrial/outdoor conditions.
• Recommend upgrades to improve electrical systems and processes.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
• Conduct routine inspections of wiring, panels, transformers, and scanners to prevent mill stoppages.
• Read blueprints and diagrams to plan installations and troubleshoot.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting for power distribution and control systems.
• Pull wire and install switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
• Balance electrical loads to prevent overloads.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other trades.
• Document work with materials and time spent.
