Job summary
Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a skilled electrical/instrumentation technician for Morenci, AZ, a copper mining complex with multiple plants and facilities. The role focuses on removing, repairing and installing electrical components and performing basic to intermediate troubleshooting in a heavy industrial environment.
You will participate in preventive maintenance, assist with diagnostics on substations, switchgear and process controls, and may be scheduled for rotating shifts in a 24/7
Qualifications
- Approved electronics, electrical and/or instrumentation program or minimum of two years of experience in industrial electrical/instrumentation repair and maintenance
- Basic experience in maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment
- Must have minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list or obtain them within 90 days of hire date
Responsibilities
- Remove, repair and install electrical components and troubleshoot on industrial systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair of substations, power distribution systems, switchgear, motors and process controls
- Assist with troubleshooting of industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
