Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Morenci is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of complex electrical systems on-site in Morenci, AZ. You will work with AC/DC drives, PLCs and instrumentation, ensuring safety and operational reliability in a heavy industrial environment.

The role requires a Certified Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation program or equivalent experience and a minimum of four years in related work.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved electronics, electrical and/or instrumentation program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum four years in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance, or an Associate's degree with two years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, prints and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively for training, safety and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair and install electrical components and systems; perform diagnostics and optimization; may mentor others.
• Perform safe routine and non-routine repairs and construction.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on industrial electrical/instrumentation equipment including substations, switchgear, motors and process controls.
