Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an experienced electrical/instrumentation technician for our Arizona operations. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical and instrumentation systems, reading schematics, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in industrial electrical work, relevant certification or degree, and the ability to work a possibly non-standard schedule in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation Program.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance.
• Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and two (2) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance
• Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment; ability to read, understand and apply information from manuals, prints and schematics
• Effective written and verbal communication skills meeting safety and training policies
• Must have minimum personal tools or obtain them within 90 days of hire
• Must demonstrate aptitude and pass any required written assessment

Responsibilities

• Removal, repair and installation of electrical components and systems; diagnose and optimize processes
• Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction
• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment
• Maintain AC/DC drives, PLCs, cranes, control systems, calibration of transmitters and weigh scales
• Installations and renovations compliant with regulatory standards
• Follow SOPs and participate in safety and environmental activities
