Job summary

City of Austin - Austin Water is seeking an Industrial Utility Electrician II to perform journeyman-level electrical repairs and installations on 1000V to 15KV equipment across multiple treatment and utility facilities in the Austin area.

You will diagnose complex electrical issues, coordinate switching, and maintain critical systems while working a rotating on-call schedule. A Texas Journeyman license and Class C driver license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have journeyman-level electrical experience in industrial or municipal settings.
• Experience with 5kV-15kV distribution equipment and motor controls is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and control drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on high-voltage electrical systems and motor controls.
• Coordinate 15kV switching and outages with utility providers.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities using CMMS or similar software.
