Job summary

Austin Water seeks an Industrial Utility Electrician II to perform journeyman-level electrical repairs and installations across 1000V to 15KV systems at the South First Support Center in Austin. The role supports water treatment facilities and remote sites, ensuring safe, reliable electrical distribution and lighting systems.

The position requires tackling complex diagnostics on substations and motor controls, coordinating outages, and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman-level electrician experience with 5KV–15KV distribution equipment preferred.
• Texas Electrical Journeyman License and Texas Class C Driver License required.

Responsibilities

• Perform journeyman-level electrical repairs and installations on 1000V to 15KV motors and motor controls.
• Maintain and repair 15KV substation switchgear and distribution systems.
• Work with lighting systems, conduit, breakers, and panel boards.
• Coordinate 15KV switching with utility providers during outages and maintenance.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities in CMMS.
