Haartz has an exciting opportunity for a 3rd shift Electrician based in Acton, MA. The role supports the Plant Engineering department, reporting to the Controls Manager, with on-site work and a 15% shift differential.

You will install, repair and maintain electrical systems on industrial machinery, troubleshoot PLC/I-O systems, and work with electrical schematics. Overtime and strong teamwork are key.

Qualifications

• MA Journeyman License required.
• 1–3 years industrial electrician experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read electrical prints.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install control wiring and conduit for production machines and upgrades.
• Terminate power and control wiring per electrical drawings.
• Diagnose and repair PLC/I-O control systems, drives, sensors and related components.
• Test machines and troubleshoot malfunctions in coordination with maintenance team.
• Replace faulty components such as relays, motors, drives and sensors.
• Travel between Hayward Rd and Craig Rd facilities in Acton.

Job Summary

Haartz has an exciting opportunity to join our Facility Maintenance team as a 3 rd shift Electrician, Monday through Friday, 8:30pm - 6:30am, reporting to the Controls Manager in the Plant Engineering department. This position’s primary responsibilities include installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. This position is full-time, base pay includes a 15% shift differential, overtime is paid after 8 hours and is on-site in Acton, MA.

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, able to problem solve and make decisions with minimal supervision. They will have strong troubleshooting skills and be detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. A strong work ethic, flexibility and ability to work in a team environment are a must!

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Install control level wiring and electrical conduit for work orders and projects to repair or upgrade production machines and other equipment.
• Terminate power and control wiring to machines and equipment based on electrical drawings.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical & control systems including PLC and I/O based systems, AC & DC drives, load cell and isolation amplifiers, transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, etc.
• Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers and plant personnel to diagnose problems.
• Replace faulty electrical components on equipment such as relays, amplifiers, motors, drives, position sensors, and other control devices.
• Assist mechanical personnel when additional resources are needed.
• Travel between the Hayward Road and Craig Road facilities in Acton.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of a MA Journeyman’s License.
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as an Industrial Electrician.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Experience working in Manufacturing or similar industry strongly preferred.
• Ability to read electrical prints.
