Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial electrical experience in a production environment.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs is highly preferred.
• Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Electrician License is required.
• High School Degree required.
• Familiarity with environmental, health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Handle general facility electrical maintenance.
• General office and manufacturing electrical maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems on production equipment including motors, motor controls, and control panels.
• Install, maintain, and repair wiring, conduit, and electrical distribution equipment throughout the facility.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production lines to minimize downtime.
• Modify existing electrical components to comply with safety regulations, cost saving measures as required.
• Perform all duties while maintaining high quality with every day thoughts for Environment, Health and Safety.
• Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Job Details

We currently have an opening for a Maintenance Electrician in our Headquarters in Canton. The employee in this position is responsible to perform a wide variety of electrical tasks to include preventative maintenance, equipment installation, to support the maintenance department, ad hoc repairs of equipment breakdowns, handle general facility electrical maintenance, as well as miscellaneous duties as assigned. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems on production equipment including motors, motor controls, and control panels

We Need Your Skills

• High School Degree
• Current Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Electrician License, required
• 5+ years of industrial electrical experience in a production environment; residential or commercial construction background alone does not meet this requirement
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, highly preferred
• Familiarity with environmental, health and safety regulations

Personal Skills And Requirements

• Must possess strong electrical troubleshooting skills and be able to analyze and repair faults under time pressure
• Knowledge of three-phase power distribution, motor controls, and VFDs
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control panel wiring
• Extrusion and sheet line experience a plus
• Ability to use hand tools and standard electrical testing equipment
• Technical understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Massachusetts amendments
• Ability to read/write English
• Knowledge of basic mechanical systems a plus, but not necessary
• Knowledge of Windows based computer software
• Capable of working without direct supervision
• Valid driver's license in good standing

Physical Requirements

• Ability to kneel, bend, stand, and walk for the majority of the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to climb stairs and ladders
