Job summary

SGS Consulting in New Jersey is seeking an experienced industrial technician to join our maintenance team. You will own safety practices, respond to incidents promptly, and work to keep plant equipment running reliably.

Responsibilities include reading schematics and P&ID drawings, understanding electrical codes, wiring, motors, drives, control loops, and burner systems. You will troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• PLC training or certification preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and P&ID drawings is essential.

Responsibilities

• Notify supervisor of any accident, near miss or injury immediately.
• Own safety standards daily and enforce them with teammates.
• Understand basic industrial electrical code and local compliance.
• Read schematics and P&ID drawings to troubleshoot.
• Knowledge of fusing, thermal overload protection and motor theory.
• Understand AC, DC and servo drive basics.
• Safely troubleshoot motor control and power circuits; read amp readings.
• Troubleshoot DC/AC drives and tune control loops; coordinate with support.
• Ensure proper grounding and shielding to reduce electrical noise.
• Understand burner systems and proper tuning with a team.
• Install and repair complex industrial equipment.
