Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking an experienced electrical technician to maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, install motors and drives, and read electrical schematics to support production lines.

Desirable candidates have PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and familiarity with 480V systems, with a track record of root-cause analysis to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years electrical technician experience in an industrial setting.
• Broad technical training including apprenticeship and 2+ years higher education.
• Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and automation troubleshooting.
• Familiar with 480V electrical systems and reading electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
• Install, test, and troubleshoot motors, drives, and power distribution components.
• Read and create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical prints.
• Lead root-cause analysis to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, quality, and engineering teams.
• Assist with commissioning of new equipment and process improvements.
