Job summary

Vogrinc Search Group seeks an Electrical Application Engineer to work at the intersection of engineering, sales, and product development. You will be the technical expert from concept through installation and support in demanding industrial settings.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, field experience, and strong communication to collaborate with engineers, plant personnel, and business leaders. Will travel ~10% and support global deployments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
5+ years of technical field, applications engineering, or similar hands-on experience.
Experience in oil & gas, mining, power generation, heavy industrial environments.
Familiarity with sensor technologies, industrial monitoring systems, electronics, and network communications.
Knowledge of Modbus, 4–20mA, relay logic, and other industrial protocols.
Understanding hazardous locations, classifications, and equipment ratings.
Strong troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Develop deep expertise in company products, technologies, and applications across industrial markets.
Partner with sales to understand customer requirements and propose technical solutions.
Translate customer needs into manufacturable system and product solutions.
Configure standard products to meet application needs and design customized solutions.
Perform engineering calculations and support product selection and recommendations.
Serve as primary technical contact throughout sales and implementation.
Communicate product capabilities clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Create application drawings, documentation, specifications, and training materials.
Support design, testing, verification, installation, and startup activities.
Troubleshoot equipment in field/phone/e-support and provide training.
