Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in New Mexico is seeking an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation Technician to perform installation, repair and preventive maintenance on industrial electrical and instrumentation systems. You will troubleshoot drives, PLCs and control equipment while ensuring safety and compliance with SOPs.

The role requires a certified electronics or instrumentation program or equivalent, plus 4+ years of related experience. Strong reading of schematics and manuals is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved electronics/instrumentation program or equivalent.
• Four years of industrial electrical/instrumentation maintenance experience.
• Read and apply information from technical manuals, prints and schematics.
• Must possess and maintain required personal tools.

Responsibilities

• Removal, repair and installation of electrical components and systems.
• Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction.
• Preventative maintenance of industrial electrical/instrumentation equipment.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC drives, PLCs, cranes, and weigh scales.
• Installations and renovations compliant with standards.
• Follow SOPs and participate in safety and environmental activities.
