Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan seeks a Diagnostic Electrician – Hydromet to support maintenance and operation at the Safford mine in southeastern Arizona. You will diagnose, repair and install electrical components and systems, with emphasis on safety and reliability across substations, motors, drives, PLCs and instrumentation.

The role requires 4+ years of experience in industrial electrical/instrumentation repair, an appropriate program or degree, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved electronics, electrical and/or instrumentation program.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance.
• Associate's degree or trade school certification plus 2 years of related experience.
• Experience reading manuals, prints and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
• Effective written and verbal communication to satisfy policies.
• Must have minimum personal tools or obtain them within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair and install electrical components and systems, analyze and diagnose, and perform advanced troubleshooting.
• Perform safe routine and non-routine repairs and construction.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on industrial electrical/instrumentation equipment and systems.
