Job summary

PA Consulting in Boston is seeking a paid Industrial Design Intern to join our team for approximately four months, in-person. You will work with designers, engineers, strategists, and technologists across the full product development lifecycle.

You will gain hands-on experience from concept through execution, collaborating across disciplines and building a strong portfolio while contributing to meaningful client work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• Portfolio demonstrates thoughtful design process, concept exploration, visual storytelling and well-crafted outcomes.
• Proficiency in 2D design (sketching, visualization, Adobe Creative Suite) and 3D modeling and rendering (SolidWorks and KeyShot preferred), with hands-on prototyping.
• Awareness of Generative AI tools such as Midjourney, Vizcom, or Microsoft Copilot and ability to apply them to design tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the design process from research and ideation through concept development, refinement, and implementation.
• Communicate ideas through sketching, CAD modeling, rendering, prototyping, and storytelling using both physical and digital tools.
• Collaborate across disciplines to solve complex challenges and contribute to client work and internal innovation initiatives.
