Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Customer Sales & Service Representative to establish and maintain profitable relationships with customers in Indiana. You will take ownership of each contact, respond to inquiries about products and services, and work with the sales team to meet customer requirements while advancing company interests.

The role emphasizes handling requests, sourcing profitable products, and ensuring on-time shipments.

Qualifications

6+ months of customer service experience or 1+ year in a Stockroom/Driving position within industrial distribution.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability and desire to learn new systems and processes quickly.
Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel.

Responsibilities

Handle requests from customers to ensure issues are resolved promptly and thoroughly.
Recommend and source the most profitable products using internal inventory first.
Review open customer orders and pending quotes to ensure on-time responses and conversions.
Communicate disruptions in service levels and corrective actions to management.
Balance company policy with customer benefit in decision making.
Provide backup support to other associates and handle additional duties as assigned by management.
