Job summary

SHIMIZU NORTH AMERICA LLC in Atlanta, GA seeks a Civil, Structural, and Architectural Estimator with 3–10 years of industrial construction experience to bid on negotiated projects. You will work with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to develop detailed cost estimates.

The role requires CSI MasterFormat knowledge, proficiency with WinEst/Timberline and take-off tools, and the ability to read drawings and coordinate across trades to deliver complete, presentation-ready estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or another technical field.
• Minimum three (3-10) years of industrial construction or manufacturing estimating experience.
• Proven track record of design bid, Design/Bid/Build estimating success.
• Strong knowledge of paving, underground, concrete and grading practices.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately.
• Experience with bidding process: soliciting bids and evaluating subcontractor proposals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the project from the first estimate through subcontracts being formalized.
• Request quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to bid or budget a project.
• Use estimating systems to prepare accurate budgets or bids.
• Perform conceptual estimates from limited drawings and specs.
• Provide innovative cost solutions and assess lead-times and materials.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately.
• Coordinate estimates with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines.
• Develop complete, presentation-worthy estimate packages.
