Job summary

U. S. Steel is seeking a Crane Maintenance Automation Technician at the Big River Steel facility in Wisconsin. You will maintain and troubleshoot automated crane systems, including PLCs, drives, and control circuits, ensuring safety and reliability in a high-demand steel mill environment.

The role requires strong electrical knowledge, 5+ years as an industrial electrician, NFPA 70E familiarity, and the ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics. Overtime may be required.

• Minimum 5 years of industrial electrician experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, environmental, quality requirements and ResponsibleSteel as applicable.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical equipment including PLCs and VFDs.
• Install or modify electrical equipment following diagrams and specs.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations in a fast-paced steel mill to support safety and reliability.
• Assist in developing work safety programs, PM systems, training, and spares lists.
