Job summary

United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician Mechanical to maintain and repair a broad range of mechanical systems in a heavy industrial setting. You will install, troubleshoot, and operate equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems, conveyors and cranes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year manufacturing and/or industrial experience (including military) or equivalent education.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 8 hour rotating shifts including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays; overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, power transmission, conveyors, cranes).
• Provide support in operating functions as necessary.
• Work at heights and/or in confined spaces as required.
• Work independently or with other maintenance technicians.
• Operate in varying plant environments (hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, noisy).
