Job summary

Allied High Tech Products, Inc. is seeking a Software Controls Engineer for our Oklahoma City R&D facility to design, develop, and support software that interfaces with electro‑mechanical products and systems.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical, electrical, and materials engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle. The role requires 3–5 years in industrial automation, PLC programming, and IEC 61131‑3 languages, with hands‑on experience in Siemens, Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, or

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3–5 years of experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, controls engineering, and/or software development.
Ability to write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and other IEC 61131‑3 programming languages.
Working knowledge of Siemens, Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, and Omron PLC platforms.
Understanding of industrial networks and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, CAN, EtherCAT).
Basic programming experience with C, C++, C#, and/or Python.
Experience with motors/drive systems; Elmo and Parker controllers preferred.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic and related control software for electro‑mechanical systems.
Design and implement software interfaces for machine control, automation, and operator interaction.
Develop and configure HMI applications for industrial equipment, with 4D Systems experience preferred.
Support integration of motors, drives, sensors, controllers, and networks into production‑ready systems.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and materials engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to support troubleshooting, wiring validation, and system integration.
Participate in R&D activities, prototype testing, debugging, documentation, and continuous improvement of equipment software.
