Job summary

ANDRITZ Schuler North America is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team of electric and controls professionals. You will design, integrate and test industrial control systems for press and automation projects, focusing on on-time delivery and high reliability.

Responsibilities include hardware design, creating BOMs, developing schematics, and supporting field service with troubleshooting. Travel nationally and internationally is required as part of project support.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years' experience designing industrial control systems.
Experience with hydraulic and mechanical power presses and press automation.
Knowledge of Allen Bradley RSLogix 5, 500, and Studio 5000 is a plus.
Knowledge of Siemens S7F/S5 is a plus.
Willingness to travel nationally and abroad.
Fluent in English; German language skills would be a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop the layout of control systems including PLC, PC, HMI, safety, and communication hardware.
Create bills of materials in Schuler’s ERP system.
Create hardware schematics and approve finished schematics.
Follow and implement applicable safety and standards (OSHA, ANSI, CSA).
Research and apply new technologies to improve Schuler’s competitiveness.
Support field service group with installations and updates.
Provide troubleshooting assistance to Schuler field service technicians and engineers.
Occasional service calls and customer site visits for meetings.
Perform as Project Manager on specific jobs as assigned by the Service Engineering Manager.
Interface with customers to resolve issues and provide technical information.
