Job summary

Schuler Gruppe in Canton, OH, seeks a Controls Hardware Engineer to design, integrate and test industrial control systems for presses and automation, with emphasis on hardware and safety systems. You will develop control layouts, create BOMs, and ensure compliance with OSHA/ANSI/CSA while coordinating with service and sales teams on installations, updates and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Minimum three years of experience in designing industrial control systems.
Knowledge in Allen Bradley RSLogix 5, 500, and Studio 5000 is a plus.
Knowledge in Siemens S7F, S5 is a plus.
Experience with PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT.
Travel nationally and abroad; must be able and willing to travel.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; fluent English; German a plus.

Responsibilities

Hardware design and development: design layouts for PLC/PC/HMI/safety hardware.
Create BOMs and hardware schematics; approve finished schematics.
Adhere to OSHA/ANSI/CSA safety standards and apply new technologies.
Service and supporting roles: assist installations, troubleshooting, and site visits.
Project management on specific jobs as assigned by the Service Engineering Manager.
Interface with customers to resolve issues and provide technical information.
