Job summary

ANDRITZ in Alpharetta, GA is seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer to design, develop, and deliver electrical and control projects that boost plant productivity and reliability for North American customers. The role requires a bachelor's in electrical engineering, 5+ years in industrial engineering, PE license, and strong communication skills.

Travel up to 5-20% may be required, with work onsite in the USA.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial engineering.
Experience in pulp & paper is a plus.
Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but able to work in a team.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (English).
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
Practical knowledge of North American standards.
Legally entitled to work in the USA.
Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).

Responsibilities

Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades.
Design MV and LV electrical power systems, including electrical room design, equipment specs, motor control and grounding systems, and cable/raceway layouts.
Perform protection and control systems design and settings.
Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems.
Design, program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications.
Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning.
Prepare tender and construction packages with drawings and installation specifications.
