Job summary

Amerex, a leading fire suppression solutions provider, seeks a Manufacturing Technology Controls Engineer in our Trussville, AL facility to drive process improvements, equipment design, and project management for controls. You will develop and maintain Rockwell PLC/HMI/SCADA programs and support OT network security.

You'll translate production needs into control specs, specify hardware, analyze downtime data, and train maintenance staff while collaborating with IT, production, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field.
• 3–5 years programming and troubleshooting PLCs in manufacturing.
• Rockwell/Allen-Bradley proficiency and ability to read schematics.
• Knowledge of industrial networking protocols and P&IDs.
• Strong communication and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs on Rockwell platform.
• Design and support industrial control networks with OT security in mind.
• Evaluate existing systems and implement reliability and safety improvements.
• Translate requirements into control specs from floor observations.
• Procure, install, and commission controls hardware with ROI focus.
• Analyze downtime data and prepare ROI/payback analyses.
• Provide troubleshooting support and on-call for critical downtime.
• Train maintenance staff and manage integrators/vendors on projects.
