Job summary

King’s Hawaiian is seeking a Maintenance Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain electrical and control systems for our bakery and manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with the Senior Maintenance Systems Engineer to ensure electrical and control specifications are followed and to deliver reliable, safe processes on the plant floor.

On-site role requiring strong PLC/HMI programming and wiring design skills, plus the ability to troubleshoot, mentor technicians, and support

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Control System Engineering experience with focus on manufacturing and control systems integration.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong PLC/PAC/HMI/Network programming knowledge across Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk Studio ME/SE, FT Transaction Manager, FT Historian, RSNetworx, Ethernet/IP, AutoCAD, SQL, OPC Servers, MS Office.
• Strong PLC/PAC/HMI/Networking hardware knowledge including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, GuardLogix, MicroLogix, PanelView Plus, VersaView and ethernet switches.
• Familiar with communication protocols: Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, ControlNet, and serial communications.
• Ability to take projects from design to implementation with minimal supervision.
• Experience with VFDs and servos (Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, Kinetix, SEW) and networking of VFDs.
• Ability to troubleshoot safety circuits and diagnose complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Program, service, repair, and maintain electrical and process control systems.
• Troubleshoot automation issues using RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk Studio ME/SE.
• Design and implement PLC and HMI applications to improve manufacturing processes.
• Maintain electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with department heads and teams to address equipment problems promptly.
• Provide after-hours support in crisis situations.
• On-site presence required; remote VPN for after-hours support.
• Provide input in designing industrial control systems for new equipment.
• Coach and mentor Controls Technicians and ensure tool availability.
• Adjust responsibilities as needed to meet company needs.
