Job summary

Motion Industries in Rochester, NY is seeking a Control Panel Builder I (Service Technician I) to assemble and wire industrial control panels per UL508A standards. You will read schematics, assemble electro-mechanical components, and test circuits while documenting changes and collaborating with Engineering.

The role requires 1–3 years of shop experience, ability to work independently or in a team, and safe operation of shop equipment. Overtime/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of shop experience or equivalent.
• Read schematics and blueprints.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a team.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and safe shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble / install industrial control panels using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics and recognize components.
• Assemble electro-mechanical components with interconnected wiring.
• Test continuity of circuits in electrical wiring.
• Document modifications or as-built conditions on drawings.
• Work with Engineering staff to help improve quality and efficiency.
• General manufacturing and assembly duties when control panel shop work is not available.
