Job summary

M4 Control Systems LLC in the Minneapolis area is hiring a skilled Control Panel Builder / Assembly Wire Technician to assemble and wire industrial control panels and automation systems. You will read electrical schematics, prepare wiring, and verify assemblies to UL standards.

The ideal candidate will interpret drawings with minimal supervision, perform quality inspections, and assist with testing, startup, and commissioning at customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and wire schedules.
• Knowledge of 24VDC control circuits and 120VAC/480VAC power systems.
• Understanding of UL panel construction requirements, labeling standards, spacing, and torque practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, accurate, high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire industrial control panels and electrical systems from schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Mount electrical components such as DIN rail, terminal blocks, relays, PLC hardware, and VFDs.
• Crimp, label, route, and terminate control wiring per UL and engineering standards.
• Perform continuity tests, insulation resistance checks, and initial panel energization.
• Maintain build documentation and record any redlines or as-built changes.
• Support field installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
