We design and implement the electrical and software systems that power modern manufacturing facilities, including control panels, electrical schematics, PLC programming, HMI development, robotics integration, and onsite commissioning.

We are seeking a skilled Control Panel Builder / Assembly Wire Technician to join our growing team in the Minneapolis area.

Position Summary

The Control Panel Builder / Assembly Wire Technician is responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing, and support of industrial control panels and automation systems using detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.

This role includes component mounting, wire preparation and termination, panel assembly, labeling, electrical verification, and quality inspections to ensure systems are built accurately, safely, and in accordance with engineering designs, UL standards, and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate takes pride in producing clean, high-quality work, can interpret electrical drawings with minimal supervision, and proactively identifies and communicates wiring, assembly, or drawing discrepancies to engineering and production teams.

  • Mount electrical components including DIN rail, wire duct, terminal blocks, relays, PLC hardware, power supplies, VFDs, and related equipment.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, label, route, and terminate control and power wiring according to engineering standards and UL requirements.
  • Complete point-to-point wiring and verify installations against engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and project specifications.
  • Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, basic electrical testing, and initial panel energization prior to shipment.
  • Maintain build documentation including checklists, torque verification records, redlines, and as-built changes.
  • Identify and communicate drawing discrepancies, wiring issues, missing components, quality concerns, and compliance issues.
  • Assist with troubleshooting wiring, control circuits, and I/O issues during panel testing and commissioning.
  • Support field installation, startup, and commissioning activities at customer sites as needed.
  • Assist with receiving, inspection, organization, and kitting of electrical components and materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to assembly processes, tooling, organization, efficiency, and workmanship.
