Job summary

Delval Equipment Corporation seeks a Capital Equipment Sales Engineer to drive growth for boiler systems, hydronic equipment, and controls. You will translate complex customer needs into technically sound proposals and manage long, highly technical sales cycles with engineers, contractors, facility managers, and owners.

You will build deep product knowledge, present technical solutions at trade shows and client sites, and collaborate with engineering teams to develop competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of sales experience in commercial, industrial, or government accounts.
• Familiarity with boiler or HVAC systems, or strong mechanical inclination with ability to learn quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

As a Capital Equipment Sales Engineer at Delval Equipment, you will drive new business growth across the Delaware/ Maryland or DC/NOVA territory by serving as a trusted technical resource for commercial and industrial boiler systems, hydronic equipment, controls, and related plant equipment. This role is built for someone who can quickly establish technical credibility, understand complex customer needs, manage a long and often highly technical sales cycle, and build lasting relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, facility managers, owners, and other key decision-makers. We are hiring for our Sykesville, MD location.

What You’ll Do

• Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities for steam boilers, hydronic systems, and commercial hot water equipment.

• Conduct technical sales presentations and provide technical support to consulting engineers, contractors, facility managers, and end users.
• Perform site surveys and assessments to determine equipment requirements and develop accurate proposals.
• Assist MEP Engineers with the design, selection, and implementation of steam and hydronic boiler systems.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to review project specifications and drawings and develop accurate, technically appropriate, and competitive system solutions and proposals.
• Provide technical guidance during installation and commissioning phases.
• Remain engaged throughout the sales and project lifecycle, coordinating customer needs from equipment selection and order handoff through delivery, startup, and resolution of commercial or technical concerns.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with engineers, contractors, and customers.
• Represent Delval at trade shows, industry events, and professional associations.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 2 years of sales experience selling engineered capital equipment through MEP’s for both bid/spec and direct owner sales.
• 1-3+ years of working knowledge of boiler systems, hydronic equipment, industrial stack, or heat exchangers is preferred.
• Existing relationships with MEP Engineering firms or large Industrial customers is a strong plus.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Self-motivated, independent, deadline-oriented and comfortable working as part of a collaborative team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the territory (up to 75%). Must reside within the assigned territory.
