Job summary

Clariant SE in Louisville, KY is seeking a Network and Automation Engineer to support automation, controls, and OT networks across our plants. You’ll focus on PLCs, controls integration, troubleshooting, and automation improvements while partnering with IT, engineering and maintenance teams.

You will help modernize legacy systems, support digitization and continuous improvement, and grow your technical OT networking skills in a hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of field technician or PLC programming experience in chemical/industrial plants.
• Willingness to learn and training/mentorship available.
• Familiarity with GE Cimplicity or Machine Edition preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support selection, installation and troubleshooting of PLC, SCADA, DCS, and instrumentation.
• Maintain OT network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT/OT compliance.
• Support data analytics, IIoT, and digitization initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on controls requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors and assist procurement of automation equipment.
• Develop and maintain control logic, interlocks, and SIS functions.
• Provide guidance to maintenance for automation issues.
• Ensure activities comply with safety and environmental standards.
