Job summary

Russ Hadick & Associates, Inc has partnered with a Dayton-area client to locate a hands-on Field Service and Automation Technician. The candidate will install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and support custom industrial automation systems at customer facilities and production shops.

The role requires a strong industrial electrical background with mechanical aptitude and experience with PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, welding systems, safety systems, pneumatics, and other automation

Qualifications

Technical degree or equivalent hands-on industrial experience required.
Five+ years in industrial automation, electrical assembly, machine building or related field.
Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control systems.
Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and robotics is essential.
Willingness to travel 40–50% for installs, commissioning and service.

Responsibilities

Travel 40–50% to install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, modify and support automation systems.
Diagnose electrical, controls, robotic, welding, mechanical, pneumatic, safety and process issues.
Perform warranty service, emergency repairs, planned maintenance, upgrades and modifications.
Provide customer support by phone, email, remote connection and on-site.
Troubleshoot control panels, wiring, motors, sensors, safety circuits, I/O, VFDs and servo systems.
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, PLC programs and robot programs.
Connect to PLCs and HMIs to monitor equipment and perform authorized changes.
Set up and troubleshoot robots and cobots; support various robot platforms.
