We are looking for an experienced Senior Industrial Automation Engineer to design, build, and optimize advanced automated manufacturing systems in a high-volume electronics production environment based in Austin.
This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of controls, mechanical design, and manufacturing systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy automated production systems (PLC, HMI, motion control, robotics)
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen‑Bradley / Siemens / Mitsubishi)
- Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA systems
- Design mechanical fixtures, tooling, and automation equipment using SolidWorks
- Diagnose and resolve complex electromechanical issues on production lines
- Drive continuous improvement (cycle time, yield, uptime, OEE)
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and process engineering teams
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and scale‑up into manufacturing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
- 7+ years of industrial automation experience in a manufacturing environment
- Vision System: Cognex / Keyence
- Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms
- Experience with electronics manufacturing processes (SMT, PCBA, testing)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and software systems
- MES or Industry 4.0/data integration experience
