Job summary

Michelin is seeking an Automation Designer in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, to design, specify, purchase and construct electrical automation systems for the plant. You will manage projects, specification, installation, start-up, and commissioning in an industrial setting.

The role requires 2–4 years of experience, familiarity with PLC/SCADA environments, and strong CAD skills. This position offers growth opportunities within Michelin’s manufacturing network.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or related field.
• 2–4 years of proven experience in electrical automation design.
• Experience with PLC programming standards and Rockwell/Siemens.
• Experience with HMI, Cognex/Keyence/Adept systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed electrical design and automation programming for projects and plant technical assistance.
• Provide estimates and technical schedules for all phases of equipment addition, replacement or upgrade.
• Provide backup support and training to plant maintenance teams on newly implemented automation systems.
• Collaborate with internal company support groups to accomplish objectives and provide engineering direction when needed.
• Participate in major capital projects from start to finish, including equipment reception, commissioning and acceptance.
