Job summary

PACIV, an established industrial automation firm in Indianapolis, Indiana, seeks an Industrial Automation & Controls Engineer II to own projects from concept through startup. You will design PLC/SCADA systems, develop control architectures, and produce deliverables such as FDS, control narratives, I/O lists, network drawings, and BOMs.

You will work with Rockwell platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, GuardLogix, PlantPAx), AutoCAD Electrical, and industrial networking, plus FAT/SAT,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration.
• Experience delivering automation projects from design through commissioning.
• Strong experience with Rockwell hardware and software (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, CompactLogix, ControlLogix).
• Experience creating electrical schematics and control panel designs using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Ability to read P&IDs, control narratives, and technical specifications.
• Willingness to travel to customer facilities for startup and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement PLC-based automation systems on Rockwell platforms.
• Develop control system architectures including hardware, software, instrumentation, and networking.
• Create deliverables: FDS, control narratives, I/O lists, network drawings, and BOMs.
• Design control panels and power distribution drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Specify PLC hardware, VFDs, motor starters, and instrumentation components.
• Develop PLC/HMI/SCADA applications using Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View.
• Configure industrial networks including EtherNet/IP and related protocols.
• Lead FAT, SAT, startup, and commissioning activities with customers.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with UL508A, NFPA standards.
