Job summary

AMETEK STC is seeking an Application Engineer to be a key technical advisor for Factory Automation product lines. The role focuses on generating new business and growing existing accounts by delivering technical support, quotes, and application guidance.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations teams, provide timely product information, and use Salesforce to manage leads and opportunities while integrating AI-driven productivity ideas. Salary aligns with a salaried, US-based role.

Qualifications

• Engineering bachelor’s degree preferred; technical school or equivalent mechanical experience considered.
• 3+ years’ hands-on technical sales preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to work with cross functional teams to define customer requirements.
• Familiarity with technical drawings and custom manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Experience with ERP/CRM software (Oracle/Salesforce) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Factory Automations' products with emphasis on mechanical systems.
• Provide timely product and technical information to customers.
• Respond to custom product and application inquiries.
• Estimate production times, labor, and costs to determine sales price.
• Define customer requirements from requests and drawings to generate quotes.
• Provide custom quotations and track in Salesforce.
• Enter and maintain sales leads, applications and opportunities in Salesforce.
• Provide market information derived from customer requests, quotes, and opportunities.
