Applied Industrial Technologies in Michigan is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team. This relationship-based sales role combines client management with a consultative sales process as you develop an established territory and customer base.

You will call on engineers and purchasing, prepare quotes, grow accounts, and report to the General Manager. Earnings are uncapped with base plus commission, offering strong earning potential as you expand your book of business.

Qualifications

• 2+ years outside industrial sales experience with a tangible product OR 2+ yrs customer service/inside sales experience with bearing and power transmission products.
• Proven experience and success in developing new business, building repeat business, and managing a sales territory.
• Strong communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to establish rapport with all levels of customer organizations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Grow territory and earnings by bringing in new business and developing repeat relationships within existing accounts.
• Call on engineers, maintenance, purchasing and others to determine needs through a consultative approach.
• Prepare quotations and proposals, negotiate terms, and close transactions.
• Organize and conduct training sessions for customers.
• Survey market and competitive conditions; complete reports on itineraries, expenses, calls, leads and other matters.
