Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking an Indirect Services & MRO Buyer in Monroe, MI. You will manage procurement for maintenance and operations, negotiate with suppliers, and optimize value while collaborating with internal customers to meet plant needs.

The role requires strong sourcing, PO management in PLEX, and cross-functional teamwork to ensure continued operations and cost efficiency across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience, preferably indirect services and MRO.
• Experience with purchase orders in ERP; PLEX preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and create/maintain purchase orders in PLEX per policy.
• Procure MRO materials and indirect services to support plant maintenance and operations.
• Review requests for supplier info, pricing, quantities, specs, delivery, terms before PO issuance.
• Solicit quotes from qualified suppliers and compare options on cost, lead time, service.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery, terms, and service requirements within guidelines.
• Identify new vendors to improve competition and value.
• Develop supplier relationships and monitor market conditions affecting costs.
