Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced MRO Buyer to procure parts, components, and services for maintenance, repair, and production within an onsite Monticello, MS facility. You will drive cost efficiency and supplier collaboration while adhering to safety and corporate policies.

Reporting to a Purchasing Manager, you will manage RFQs, PO processing, and delivery tracking, collaborating across operations, engineering, logistics, and finance to deliver value and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, manufacturing operations or related supply chain experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% depending on location and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute company-wide sourcing strategies for MRO and production-related categories.
• Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and reduce inventory overages using ERP systems.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate supplier bids, negotiate terms, and select suppliers based on total cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, logistics, and finance to deliver solutions.
• Manage supplier relationships and coordinate with logistics to optimize delivery and costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, purchasing, and contractual policies.
• Analyze invoice exceptions and drive preventive actions.
• Drive process improvements and automation to enhance purchasing efficiency.
• Communicate clearly, negotiate effectively, and manage competing priorities.
• Provide occasional weekend remote support when needed.
