Job summary

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. in Monroe, MI seeks an Indirect Services & MRO Buyer to ensure timely acquisition of maintenance materials and services.

You will manage PLEX purchase orders, obtain quotes, and negotiate terms to sustain plant operations and value. You will build supplier relationships, pursue cost-saving opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing with production needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or closely related field.
• 3+ years procurement/purchasing experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Experience creating and processing purchase orders; PLEX experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process requisitions, create/update purchase orders in PLEX.
• Procure MRO materials and indirect services for plant maintenance.
• Solicit quotes, compare options, and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Build supplier relationships and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with maintenance, operations, stores, and accounting to prioritize needs.
