Job summary

Gerdau is seeking a Buyer II for indirect MRO procurement in the Midlothian, TX region. You will lead national and regional supplier negotiations, manage multi-million-dollar annual purchases, and partner with plant leadership and central teams to optimize total cost and supply continuity.

The role emphasizes strategic sourcing, contract management, and cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on safety, sustainability, and ethical standards. This is a full-time on-site position in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years indirect procurement experience including contracts, PO management, negotiations, and supplier relations.
• Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategies for indirect goods and MRO to optimize cost, quality, and continuity.
• Lead supplier negotiations and contracts at national, regional, and local levels.
• Manage annual purchases in the tens of millions and coordinate with plant leadership.
• Analyze suppliers, terms, and performance to improve cost, quality, and service.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet inventory and availability targets.
