The Cultural Healing Educator position with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing education and outreach activities that promote healing from sexual violence and support survivors, their families, and the community throughout seven counties.

Key duties include developing curriculum, delivering Indigenous culture education, designing traditional healing trainings, maintaining materials, and providing workshops to service providers

Qualificações

• Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in the social service field or with a victim services program.
• Knowledge of Anishinaabe Bimaadiziwin Kinoomaagewinan beyond general understanding.

Responsabilidades

• Develops culturally sensitive curriculum to promote healing of survivors and the community.
• Presents instruction on indigenous culture and trauma.
• Designs training on traditional healing practices.
• Maintains educational materials and resource library.
• Provides culturally specific workshops to community groups.
• Participates in meetings and committees to uphold Anishinaabe Bimaadiziwin values.
• Develops media and outreach materials for the Native American community.
• Researches culturally appropriate materials to purchase.
• Attends meetings and conferences.
