State of Indiana, through INDOT, is seeking an entry-level Highway Technician for the Tipton Unit. You will perform general maintenance on Indiana highways, assist with snow and ice removal, and support traffic control during emergencies. The role requires a valid CDL (within 90 days) and physical endurance.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $20 per hour, with an additional $1 per hour for CDL holders, plus robust benefits and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Pass drug test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment.
• Ability to work in varying weather and outdoor conditions.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to keep highways safe.
• Perform winter operations and snow/ice removal duties.
• Assist with traffic control during emergencies and road closures.
• Inspect and perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
• Perform various labor tasks as assigned.
