Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is a leading provider of fire, life safety and security solutions. The Portables Service Technician role involves inspecting, maintaining, and servicing portable fire protection equipment with minimal supervision while adhering to NFPA standards and company procedures.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in the field, a High School diploma, and a NICET I or higher. This position includes travel to various job sites and a competitive benefits package in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks.
• Strong understanding of portable fire protection equipment and codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment independently.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision while ensuring quality and compliance.
• Conduct annual inspections, maintenance, and assist with testing as required.
• Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to customers and supervisors.
• Accurately document services performed, including tagging and reporting.
• Travel to job sites as required.
