Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Portables Service Technician to independently inspect, maintain and service portable fire extinguishers and related equipment. You will document services, ensure compliance, and travel to job sites while upholding safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and a valid driver's license; NICET Level I or higher is preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
NICET Level I or above preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
Clean driving record and active driver’s license if driving role.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment independently.
Complete standard service calls without direct supervision while ensuring quality and compliance.
Conduct annual inspections and maintenance, assist with testing as required.
Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures.
Document services performed, including tagging and reporting.
Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to customers and supervisors.
Travel to job sites as required and maintain safety standards.
