Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core service tasks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with codes and standards. The role covers commercial, industrial, and construction environments with travel to job sites as required.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry, a high school diploma, and NICET Level I or above preferred. Excellent communication and safety-conscious work habits are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety as a technician.
• NICET Level I or higher preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and independent-working abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record if driving role.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
