Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in the United States is seeking a Portables Technician who can independently perform inspections, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment, ensuring NFPA standards and company procedures are met.

The role emphasizes strong technical skills, reliability, and customer service as you document services, travel to job sites, and work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks.
• Clean driving record and valid driver license if driving role.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and service portable fire extinguishers and related equipment independently.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Conduct annual inspections and assist with testing as required.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures.
• Accurately document services performed, including tagging and reporting.
• Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to customers and supervisors.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Maintain safety and follow company policies.
