Job summary

NOFS (Northern Ohio Field Services) seeks a Mortgage Field Inspector in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to perform residential inspections and verify occupancy status. This is a contractor (1099) role with hourly pay and autonomous scheduling.

Work independently, travel to properties, and deliver timely reports. Background check required; 6 months inspections experience preferred. Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation is required to travel to multiple properties.
• Experience with default mortgage inspections is preferred.
• Experience with InspectorADE is a plus.
• Effective communication is essential for client liaison and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• US citizenship or green card status and willingness to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct residential property inspections to verify occupancy status and report findings.
• Deliver delinquency letters and perform insurance inspections as needed.
• Use inspection software to document and report results.
• Take photographs of properties and provide required documents.
• Complete inspections within designated timelines and meet performance metrics.
• Communicate professionally with the account manager.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Remain professional at all times.
• Have reliable transportation and pass a background check to obtain Aspen Grove number.
• Possess 6 months of inspection experience or 1099 work preference.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and time management.
• Learn new software and tools quickly and adapt to technology.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain independence to meet deadlines.
• Travel to various properties in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and nearby counties as required.
