Job summary

Brightli is seeking a Primary Support Professional in Cape Girardeau, MO to coordinate and provide individualized supported living services. You’ll work with the Program Coordinator to implement ISP goals, support residents in homes and communities, and ensure safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
• If no experience, Missouri Quality Outcomes training approved by the Division of Developmental Disabilities regional office must be completed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings, including criminal history, driving record, and abuse/neglect checks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide individualized ISL services that promote independence and achievement of ISP goals.
• Support individuals in their homes and communities while fostering a safe, positive, person-centered environment.
• Collaborate with Program Coordinators, nursing staff, guardians, and support teams to ensure high-quality care and service delivery.
• Monitor health-related needs by coordinating medical appointments, communicating outcomes, and ensuring follow-up on recommendations.
• Train and support staff regarding medical needs, medications, special diets, adaptive equipment, and personal preferences.
• Oversee daily residential documentation, goal tracking, health monitoring, and checklists.
• Maintain household operations by monitoring supplies, groceries, and inventory, and proper food storage.
• Ensure health, safety, cleanliness, and emergency preparedness standards are maintained.
• Review MARs and event reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with staff scheduling and coverage for planned and unplanned absences.
• Manage client financial recordkeeping and ensure proper money handling procedures.
• Track mileage usage according to budgets and program expectations.
• Participate in positive behavior support planning when needed.
• Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
